Financial counselling service

Our Financial Counsellor can help women who are affected by domestic and family violence to deal with money problems. To access this service, you must be referred a community service provider.

Our Financial Counsellor can support clients to:

resolve unfair debts and outstanding bills

budget and use money saving tips

make plans to meet their financial goals

connect to services to meet their immediate needs

Who can access this service?

  • This service is for women and children who have experienced abuse from an intimate partner.
  • It is mainly available to those living in South West Sydney.
  • To access this service, you must be referred by a community worker or another service.

If you need support with money problems, but don’t match the above criteria, you can reach out to Financial Rights Legal Centre for support.

What kind of support does this service offer?

Our Financial Counsellor can support your client with:

  • advice and support for their money problems
  • practical advice to help with debts
  • support to talk with their creditors
  • referrals to other agencies
  • education on how to manage money
  • a free, non-judgmental and confidential service.
